Clovelly Vineyards Medals Two Silvers at 2014 Maryland Governor's Cup
With a third generation farm and a business embracing a thriving nursery, soybean, corn and wheat production, the lands of Clovelly are bountiful. Almost five years ago, the Gibbons-Neff family planted grape vines which would benefit from the riverside breezes at the gracious bend in the Chester River where their property is located.
Ten acres of grapes provide one of the most beautiful vineyard vistas on the Eastern Shore, as well as the fruitful creation of wines of notoriety. In the spring 2014, the Gibbons-Neffs introduced their wines made from 100% hand-harvested Clovelly grapes. Fast forward to late August 2014 when Clovelly Vineyards was awarded two Silver medals at the prestigious Maryland Governor's Cup Awards.
The Maryland Governor's Cup Competition is held each year to find the best wines in Maryland. This year Over 100 Wines from across the state competed for awards presented by the Governor and the Maryland Wineries Association, with some exacting judges making their selections.
